Frequently Asked Questions:
-Why should I drink plenty of water after a massage?
Massage helps your body to remove metabolic waste from the cells and hand it over to
the lymphatic system. By drinking plenty of water, you give your body the chance to
flush out these toxins from the body.
-Is it better to get a massage before or after my work-out?
Whatever feels best to you and is most convenient. There are benefits either way. Massage
before a work-out gets your muscles stretched and lose for maximum strength and Range of
Motion; yet massage after exercise helps in recovery and feels like a great reward. Make sure
you let the therapist know of your plans, otherwise you may feel way too relaxed to exercise
after a massage!
  -No pain, no gain?
Quite the opposite! In my 7 years of working as a massage therapist, I have found that when
massage is painful to the client, the muscle tissue actually tenses up more, protecting itself
from potential damage. So if you catch yourself holding your breath or tensing up against
the applied pressure or just wishing that the therapist would move on from this particular
spot, you're not doing yourself any favors! Tell the therapist to ease off so that greater
relaxation can be achieved.
-I have sinus troubles, and I'm uncomfortable laying face down.
There is a lot we can work on while you are laying on your back. We can make the time you
are face down as short as necessary, or have you laying on your sides instead of your stomach.
Eucalyptus oil and sinus pressure points in the face can be very effective. Sinus drainage is a
natural process that rids the body of toxins and foreign invadors, so please always feel free to
blow your nose during a massage.
